Tomlinson’s new ride impresses in Florida

Laura Tomlinson’s mare Rosalie B impressed on what was only their second competition together, finishing third at thePalm Beach Dressage Derby FEI Grand Prix Special CDI-Win Florida.

Progress

Tomlinson, who is based in Florida for the winter, was pleased with the progress the 10-year-old Westphalian mare has made. They finished on72.078% to end up in third position.

“I was very happy with her,” said Laura, who won Olympic team gold and individual bronze at the London 2012 Olympics. “It was her second show ever at the Grand Prix level and her second show with me ever. I’m thrilled with how much she’s come together just since the last show.”

Confident

“She’s much more confident in the ring, and easier to ride. I feel very happy with the way she’s going and the way she’s improving. We didn’t actually have any mistakes today. She’s still lacking the strength a little bit, but she’s obedient with it,” she added.

Canadian pair Belinda Trussell and Antonwon with a score of 75.529% while the USA’s Arlene ‘Tuny’ Page finished second on Woodstock with 73.431%.

Laura also came secondin thePalm Beach Derby Dressage Exhibition, in which riders had to perform a Prix St Georges test on a strange horse after afive-minute familiarization period.
