William Fox-Pitt in hospital with head injury

William Fox-Pitt is in hospital with a head injury after falling on the cross-country at Le Lion d’Angers, France.

Emergency

The 46-year-old was competing Reinstated in the 2015FEI World Breeding Eventing Championships for Young Horses.

William was treated by emergency teams at the scene, before being transferred to the Angers Hospital. His horse was not injured.

Sedated

The following statement has been released: “William has suffered a head trauma but is otherwise fine. He is comfortable and stable under sedation and will be under constant observation.”

The pair was lying third after the dressage with a score of 43.2pen and William said he was “delighted” with the seven-year-old, who is owned by Teresa Stopford-Sackville, Cathy Butler and William’s wife Alice.

William won the six-year-old class with him at theKBIS British Eventing Young Horse Championships at Osberton last year.
