A woman has been arrested after she slapped a police horse, during a Donald Trump protest.

‘Angry and violent’

The protest took place at a rally for the US presidential candidate in Kansas City. When police tried to control the crowd by blocking the road, April Foster approached a mounted officer and his horse, Dan.

According to the policeman’s report, the 29-year-old starting screaming in the horse’s face to frighten him.

“When this tactic did not work she attempted to push my horse with no success,” he said. “I observed this to only make her more angry and violent and in a last attempt she struck my horse in the face with an open hand.”

Released on bale

Foster then ran away, back into the crowd, before police could arrest her.

She was later caught after police received information via a crime stoppers helpline.

The woman was charged with abuse of a police service animal. She was released after paying $500 bail and is due to appear in court on 4 May.
