New vision for Burghley sponsored Ride

It’s not just the world’s best eventers that face a new cross-country course at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials this weekend – members of the public will also get to ride the new lines.

Exclusive access

For the past 15 years the SEIB Burghley Sponsored Ride has taken participants in the opposite direction to the cross-country course. However, this year riders will hack round in the same direction, allowing them to get even closer to those massive fences.

This is also the first year the 12km course goes past the Trout Hatchery, giving a rider’s eye view of the jumps.

Record-breaking

The sponsored ride, which takes place on thefinal day of the horse trials, has raised more than £180,000 since it started in 1995. Last year saw a record-breaking sum of £15,500 going to charity.
