After a six-year absence, combined training events will be returning British Dressage (BD), with competitions running from November this year through to April 2017.

There will be a variety of classes on offer for horse and rider combinations of all abilities with Prelim and Novice dressage tests and showjumping from 70cm up to 1m.

British Dressage has worked closely with the fellow governing bodies British Showjumping, British Eventing and British Riding Clubs to reinstate Combined Training.

BD Sport Operations Manager; Paul Graham is delighted to be bringing the series back to life.

“We picked up that the equestrian community has been missing combined training since its demise in 2010 so felt that after a break, it was time to bring it back. Changes were made to appeal to a more ‘grassroots’ market so that riders could benefit all round,” he said.

For the first time competitors will have the chance of reaching one of two finals at the end of the combined training calendar on Bank Holiday weekend (27 and 28 May 2017). The north of England final will be held at the Vale View Equestrian Centre in Leicestershire and Wellington in Hampshire will host the southern contest.
