Dressage fans in New York are in for a treat next month, when world number one Charlotte Dujardin competes at the Rolex Central Park Horse Show (23-27 September).

Stars

The reigning Olympic, European and World Champion will be making a rare appearance with her superstar gelding Valegro.

The pair have competed Stateside twice before, at Palm Beach in Florida in 2012 – where they came second twice – and at the FEI World Cup Finals in Las Vegas, where they stormed to victory.

Sell out

Only 1,000 tickets will be made available for the Central Park Horse Show, with demand expected to be high. Valegro’s co-owner, Carl Hester, has discussed the possibility of retiring the dressage phenomenon after the Rio Olympics, which are now only 12 months away.

It is the second running of the show following the inaugural event in 2014. Held in the stunning surroundings of Central Park, with the New York skyline providing an amazing backdrop, the show features jumping, dressage and showing.
