European Champions

The individual stars of the show were Vicki Thompson-Winfield and Mango Jacaro who won the Reyale (grand prix) and Iberica (grand prix freestyle), to be crowned European Champions.

In the team event, it was Belgium that won gold for the second year running, with a total of 782.10. Britain just missed out first place with a score 778.80, ahead of France who won bronze on 756.60.

Britain also won gold in the Golega/Carmencita – which is equivalent to elementary/elementary freestyle – with Samantha Wuidart and Lince FS taking top honours.

The Masters du Cheval Iberique (MCI) European Dressage League is exclusively for Iberian horses. Now in its 22nd year, these prestigious championships have only ever taken place in Europe, but they came to the UK for the first time this year.
