If you’re ever wondered what it’s like to ride round York Racecourse, then this is about as close to the real thing as you can get – watch as leading northern jockey Paul Mulrennan explains how to ride the track in this headcam footage from York.

This year’s mile and a quarter Juddmonte International takes place on the first day of the Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor Festival on Wednesday 17th August. The £900,000 feature race is part of the QIPCO British Champions Series, and boasts an impressive collection of winners in recent years including Australia and Frankel.

Aiming to join their ranks are the likes of Coral-Eclipse winner Hawkbill, the winner of the Prince of Wales’s Stakes My Dream Boat, the Investec Coronation Cup winner Postponed and the winner of this year’s King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, Highland Reel.
