The October race day meeting at Exeter Racecourse will be a fundraiser for the Willberry Wonder Pony Charity, founded by the young event rider Hannah Francis who sadly passed away in August.

Exeter is donating £1 from every pre-booked ticket for their meeting on Thursday 6 October to show their support for the charity.

“So many people have been inspired by Hannah, including us all here at Exeter Racecourse and we are delighted to be able to support Hannah’s Willberry Wonder Pony Charity,” said General manager Daniel Thompson.

Hannah was a talented horsewoman whose life was cruelly taken by an aggressive and rare form of bone cancer. She had the support from numerous top Olympic riders including William Fox-Pitt, Kitty King, Pippa Funnell and dressage star Charlotte Dujardin.

The 18-year-old inspired the whole equestrian community with her determination and strength, raising more than £100,000 and leaving a huge legacy behind.
