Scott Brash is back in the running for his third consecutive title as king of the Longines Global Champions Tour (GCT), after winning the Grand Prix Du Prince De Monaco in France (27 June).

Snatched victory

It was Scott’s first GCT win with the nine-year-old Hello M’Lady. The pair snatched victory from John Whitaker and Argento, who took second place, by less than four tenths of a second.

An international line-up saw Italy’s Emanuele Gaudiano take third place riding Admara 2, Qatari rider Sheikh Ali Bin Khalid Al Thani fourth and USA’s Jessica Springsteen come fifth.

Top Brits

Earlier in the day Scott and John achieved another one-two, with Scott winning the CSI5* Prix Sapinda class on Hello Annie, and John second once again riding Ornellaia.

The 59-year-old also enjoyed a win with the talented mare on Friday (26 June), with Ben Maher this time taking the runner-up spot on Aristo Z.

Great show

It was a great show for the Brits, win Scott taking second place on Annie on the opening day and Yazmin Pinchen – fresh from her big win at Bolesworth – also achieved a top-ten placing.

Scott is now just 36 points behind GCT ranking leader Luciana Diniz. Rolf-Göran Bengtsson is third place and Sheikh Ali Bin Khalid Al Thani moves up to the fourth spot.

Next week the GCT moves to Paris, where the series passes the halfway mark.
