Nominate your equestrian hero for an award

If you think there someone in the equestrian world who deservers recognition, now is the time to do something about it. It could be a top athlete or an exceptional instructor at your local riding school – and there are two ways to get them nominated.

Extraordinary sport

The FEI has launched its 2015 awards, while the National Equine Forum (NEF) is looking for nominations for the Sir Colin SpeddingAward2016.

The FEI Awards 2015 have five categories: the Longines Rising Star Award, Reem Acra Best Athlete, Best Groom Award, FEI Solidarity Award and the Against All Odds Award.

“Our sport is unique and extraordinary,” said FEI President Ingmar De Vos. “Our athletes and everyone working in the equestrian community have amazing track records of success, incredible personalities and fascinating back stories.

“These awards honour everyone who makes our sport happen, highlighting the true value of horse sport and its contribution to our global society

Extraordinary

The NEF award recognises unsung heroes of the equestrian world. Sir Colin Spedding was the founding chairman of the NEF and chaired the event for 20 years until his death in 2012.

Previous recipients of theawardare Paul Greeves former executive director and keeper of the General Stud Book at Weatherbys (2015) and Martin Clunes on behalf of UK Equine Welfare Charities (2013).

Email your nomination before 12pm on 31 July. The winner will be announced at the National Equine Forum on 3March 2016.
