The youngster called ‘Thunder’ was said to have been ridden until the point of exhaustion before being beaten to death.

The incident is thought to have occured on Friday morning in broad daylight in McAuley Park in the Raheny/Artane district.

Equine charity ‘My Lovely Horse Rescue’ received reports about the dead horse and called the police. “A few people contacted us to say they had seen kids riding the horse until he was absolutely exhausted and there was seemingly a bet over who could ride him into the ground first” a spokesperson for the charity told the Irish Independent.

When the horse collapsed the group of thugs allegedly kicked the horse to death. The body was later removed
