Walks Around Britain returns to Horse & Country
May is National Walking Month, so it’s the perfect time to launch the third series of H&C’s popular show Walks Around Britain.
Presenter Andrew White has now filmed and presented more walks in the British Isles than any TV presenter, so who better to guide you around our beautiful country?
Andrew visits some stunning locations and discovers more great short walks with amazing stories and wonderful views.
The routes featured on the show are all between two and eight miles, making them suitable for walkers of all levels. So there is no excuse for not getting out there and seeing the best of the British countryside!
This third series features walks on some of the islands around the British Isles, including the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight, Jersey, Alderney and Tresco on the Isles of Scilly.
It also showcases some shorter walks than can be taken along long-distance trails in Britain, including a walk between Huggate and Thinexdale on the Yorkshire Wolds Way, and between Nigwood and Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight.
A visit to the Lake District explores two distinctly different walks – one a challenging yomp up the hill of Silver How and the other on a flat track around Elter Water.
‘Walking is for everyone’
“I really enjoyed doing the walks in season three of Walks Around Britain – from the routes on the islands around the British Isles to bringing an old railway back to life in North Yorkshire,” says Andrew White.
“Walks Around Britain is all about finding great short walks and showing walking is for everyone – and it’s not just mountains, long-distance trails and mint cake. Proving that walking can be a real family affair, my eldest child Alannah joins me for a walk to the top of Caer Caradoc in Shropshire, and both Alannah and my other daughter Olivia come to Jersey for two family-friendly walks with epic views.”
Series three of Walks Around Britain premieres at 7pm on Sunday 14 May on Sky 253, or you can watch it online by subscribing to H&C Play.
