Tickets for the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials are now on sale – with major discounts if you buy them in advance.

Testing course

The world’s top eventers will be competing in this year’s CCI4* competition, held at Burghley House in Stamford, Lincolnshire (4-7 September) – many of which will come straight from the World Equestrian Games in Normandy.

Burghley starts with two days of dressage on Thursday and Friday, followed by everyone’s favourite event – the cross-country. The testing course, designed by Captain Mark Phillips, is said by many riders to be the toughest in the world, due its massive fences and undulating terrain.

The event comes to an exciting climax on Sunday with the showjumping, when the winner of Burghley 2014 will head home £62,000 the richer.

World class

Alongside the world-class eventing, Burghley has more 600 trade stands selling everything you and your horse could ever need.

Tickets start at £13.50 (plus £8 for parking) for the dressage, while a four-day pass costs £50 plus £25 parking per car. Visit the Burghley website for more information and to buy tickets (although users are being advised not to use Internet Explorer, due to problems with Microsoft security).
