Olympic showjumper Abdullah Al Sharbatly continued his run of good form at Royal Windsor, adding another two victories on Saturday to take his total of wins up to three.

Six of the best

Abdullah, who won Olympic team bronze in 2012 as well as individual silver at the Alltech World Equestrian Games in 2010, started off by winning the Bahrain Pearl Stakes on Andrea on Friday.

His next win came in the Six Bar, when he jumped the only clear in the fifth and final round, riding Callahan. Italy’s Emanuele Gaudiano (Corbanus) was second, while John Whitaker was best of the Brits on Uni Stop.

He was back at the head of the line-up in Saturday’s feature class, the CSI3* King’s Cup, riding Tobalio. In the jump-off, he was half a second faster than second placed Andres Rodriguez on Caballito.

Breen wins

Ireland’s Shane Breen won the final class of the day, The Falcon Stakes, with Farao Van’T Vennehof.

“This horse was placed in the Grand Prix here last year with my brother, Trevor,” said Shane, who owns the nine-year-old stallion with his uncle James Breen and Anatoly Pysarenko. “He’s had lots of second, so it’s good to finally get a win with him. He is Mr Consistent for me.”
