Snow polo is one of the most thrilling and glamorous sports on earth. Where else would you see horses galloping on ice at altitude, while wealthy spectators glug Krug champagne?

Behind the scenes

It’s not just the polo that is exciting; there are the logistics of getting around 75 horses up a snowy mountain and transforming a ski resort into a polo mecca.

H&C takes you behind the scenes of this fascinating sport in a new show, Snow Polo Champions at the Top. The documentary follows three French players as they prepare for and compete in the Polo Masters Tour in Mègeve.

Mègeve is the French capital of polo on snow, and for the last 20 years it has welcomed the world’s best teams every winter.

Tough sport

The mountains form a stunning backdrop to the event, which sees six international teams, 18 players and 75 horses battle it out over four days in the hope of winning the celebrated Megève trophy.

Snow Polo Champions at the Top looks at how the players prepare for this tough sport, from choosing the right horses to their gruelling training regime.

You can watch the glamour and the glory on H&C right now, as Snow Polo Champions at the Top is available on Catch Up via H&C Play.
