Record prizemoney at Scottish horse trials

Floors Castle Horse Trials in the Scottish Borders is offering a £5,000 prize fund for its international classes this spring – which is the biggest prizemoneyat this level in the UK.

In addition to the top prizemoney, Olympic eventer Ian Stark has come on board as the cross-country course designer.

Winner of the CIC2** will take go home £1,200 the richer, while the CIC1* class has £500 up for grabs. Both classes have decent prizemoney further down the line, with the two-star event awarding riders down to eighth place, and cash prizes to sixth place in the one-star.

Free stabling at the nearby Kelso Racecourse is also being offered to all competitors taking part in the international classes.

“We have been incredibly lucky to be able to secure some fantastic sponsors,” says event organiser Cameron Crawford. “It is with their support that we have been able to offer this increased prize fund.”

A number of other competition will run alongside the international events including a Racehorse to Riding Horse showing qualifier and the Burghley Young Event Horse Classes.
