New device helps decide what rug to put on your horse

Deciding what rug to put on your horse at this time of year can be a real headache.

One day it’s wet and warm, the next its blue skies and freezing temperatures – and trying to second guess how warm (or cold) your horse will be can cause sleepless nights.

Horseware might just have the answer as H&C discovered, when we caught up with CEO Tom McGuiness at HorseTech Conference in London.

The rug manufacturer’s latest innovation is the HorsePal, a sensor which goes under the horse’s rug and monitors his temperature, so you can tell if he’s over or under rugged.
