Meet the incredible Marwari horses on H&C

Horse & Country is delighted to bring you a fascinating new documentary about the incredible Marwari horses.

Loyal and brave

Marwari is an ancient breed from the Marwar region in the state of Rajasthan, in northwest India. They are easily identified by their distinctive inward curling ears and are loved for their intelligence.

Marwari are much smaller than European breeds, but they have been used as cavalry horses throughout history, due to their loyalty and bravery. Today they have a range of uses, from endurance and trekking to ‘dancing’, which is similar to the displays by the Spanish Riding School in Vienna.

Joy to watch

Equus Worldwide travels to India to meet these beautiful horses and find out more about them from the local people who breed, train and love them.

The documentary is stunning to look at and the horses are joy to watch. The only downside is we now want a Marwari, but they are very rare and very expensive outside of India!

Don’t miss Equus Worldwide: India when it premieres on Sunday 28 January at 8pm on Sky 253, or you can watch online via H&C Play or Amazon Video. H&C Play subscribers can then watch it on Catch Up.
