Meet Daisy the mule foal

Heading image

Greenacres Equestrian, the riding school where international showjumper and Hickstead Derby winner Phillip Miller is based, has had a surprise new arrival in the form of a white mule foal.

Surprise

Pennie Cornish, who owns Greenacres and has bred some of the country’s top showjumpers, had bought the grey mare April for her daughter to ride and to use in the riding school.

She came over from Ireland, and duly got fatter – then a vet confirmed that she was in fact in foal.

Then you can imagine the surprise when out popped Daisy – blue eyed, pink nosed, totally white with the longest white ears imaginable.

Mule with a fan club

She’s been a hit with all the visitors of the riding school, and loves the attention. She already has her own Facebook page, and in the future she might do public appearances to raise money for charity.

Now, aged three weeks, Daisy is bold, confident and very cheeky! We went along to meet her this week – check out the video above.
