Bonita is a big beautiful thoroughbred who was discarded as a polo horse due to her highly sensitive nature. Bonita manifests her desperation in the round pen as Monty begins his process of rebuilding her trust and cooperation.(S14 Ep 8/12)
Responding to Monty’s gentle prompts, Bonita emerges from her defensive panic and finds comfort and safety in partnership. (S14, Ep 9/12)
Fabuloso is a big horse with a timid heart who cannot be approached with clippers in hand. After a Join-Up Monty uses an electric toothbrush to incrementally habituate the gelding to the feared sound of clippers. (S14 Ep 10/12)
One of 3 mustang herd mates brought to Monty for gentling Casey is frightened of the sights and sounds of the human world. Monty uses his "Lake and Stream" method to help Casey get over his fear of plastic tarpaulins. (S14 Ep 11/12)
Monty guides Casey, a wild mustang, through an incremental process of habituation. As Monty causes Casey no pain, he is able to win the horse’s complete trust. (S14, Ep 12/12)

Zephyra was captured from a herd of wild Mustangs, gentled, and is now being started under saddle. Monty begins Zephyra’s training with a Join-Up, then shows her how to be guided by his long lines. (S15 E6/12)
After a quick review of Join-Up and Long lining, Zephyra meets her first rider, Alex. Monty helps Alex habituate the mare to his weight, and she accepts her rider without resistance. (S15 E 7/12)
Assisted by Certified Instructor Manjeev Chaudhary, Monty performs his incremental work of gentling a beautiful and very wild mustang filly, Sage. (S15 E 8/12)
Wild mustang Sage returns for a second session. After Monty builds on her first halting steps on the lead line, Sage surprises us by demonstrating her newly learned ability to follow the leader. (S15 E 9/12)
Monty works with his neighbour's Quarter Horse colt Diego to start him under saddle. Monty leads Diego in his first Join-Up and first saddle, readying him for his first rider in their coming session. (S15 E 10/12)
Guided by Monty’s long lines, Diego learns to follow the reins in the basic moves he will perform under saddle. The Quarter Horse colt will soon be a working cow horse on the ranch where he grew up. (S15 E 11/12)
Diego takes his first steps under saddle with Crawford the dummy rider. Monty Roberts Instructor, Joanna Lowes then rides Diego, demonstrating her gentle horsemanship with Monty guiding the process. (S15 E 12/12)
Monty rides Nice Chrome, his champion reining Quarter Horse, in a demonstration of advanced lead changes and pirouettes. (S16 E 1/12)
Tokala has never been led into a trailer, and challenges Monty with his extreme reluctance. Tokala fights each new stratagem as Monty gently and incrementally habituates him to the loading process.
As Monty says, a wild horse must investigate every possible way to evade a horse-eating lorry. Tokala was captured wild and shows a survivor’s guile and perseverance, while gradually being tamed.
Cholula is a Quarter Horse/Lusitano filly blessed with beauty, intelligence, and a great attitude. In Part 1 she begins what Monty calls “The Starting Process” with Join-Up, saddling and long-lining.
Quarter Horse/Lusitano filly Cholula completes the Starting Process with her first rider aboard. Certified Instructor Mandeep Chaudhary’s has hands on, while Monty provides advice and commentary.
Talero is a wild colt, recently gentled in Monty’s Gentling Wild Horses class. He does his first Join-Up in the round pen, then begins an exercise designed to develop mutual trust with his handler.
Talero’s trust in humans grows as he learns to walk across a large tarpaulin. A rope is looped around his ribs for the first time, readying him for a future saddle and rider.
Maddie is a striking young warmblood, a quick learner and a lovely mover. In Part 1, Monty guides his student Tess Armani through the steps of preparing Maddie to accept a rider for the first time.
