The British Dressage competitive season is split into summer and winter, and the Winter Championships are the final stage of competition from the June-December season of the previous year. Held in the spring every year, the Winter Dressage Championships hosts classes from Prelim to Inter I, where combinations who have placed highly at Regional level are invited to compete. This event also hosts the Petplan Area Festival Winter Dressage Championships classes, from Prelim to Inter I, where combinations who have placed highly at their local Area Festival are invited to compete. These Championships therefore showcase some of the best in the country, from those who have recently started their dressage journey to those campaigning for top level sport.
