Harriet Nuttall makes jump from Derby bridesmaid to blushing bride

International showjumper Harriet Nuttall has married jockey Will Biddick in her home town of Somerset.

Stunning ring

Harriet and Will tied the knot on Friday 26 October in front of 240 guests, which included the great and the good from equestrian sport.

The couple met through hunting three years ago and Will popped the question in January, in a rather unique way. The six-time Champion Amateur Jockey lay a trail of clues that led to a stunning diamond ring under Harriet’s pillow.

‘No idea!’

“I had no idea!” said Harriet. “He is quite a joker and I never imagined he was about to propose!”

The couple are now off on a two-week honeymoon to Indonesia, which Will booked himself and kept as a surprise until they got hitched.

“All he said was to pack for hot weather, but also bring a pair of trousers and a jumper!” Harriet laughed.

Derby bridesmaid

Harriet is best known for her success at Hickstead, where she has won the Queen Elizabeth II Cup and the British Speed Derby twice.

She has also come second in the Hickstead Derby three times with the much-loved A Touch Imperious – earning her the moniker the Derby bridesmaid! But now she is finally the bride…
