Royal Windsor has received a record number of entries for this year’s horse show (14-18 May), which is held in the private grounds of Her Majesty The Queen’s castle.

International status

The increase in numbers coincides with the show being awarded CHI (Concours Hippique International) status, and it now has new international three-star showjumping and dressage competitions.

Simon Brooks-Ward, managing director of HPower, who runs the event said: “We have had really encouraging entries this year, breaking all records. The competitors have given the thumbs up to Windsor and we will do our utmost to make them all welcome.”

Queens horses

Alongside the international competitions there will national showjumping and 130 national showing classes – with five of the Queen’s own horses competing including Katie Jerram’s retrained racehorse champion Barber Shop.

Spectators can also enjoy the Musical Ride from the Household Calvary and the King’s Troop Musical Drive, the DAKS Pony Club Mounted Games and the Shetland Pony Grand National. Or you can indulge in some retail therapy with over 200 shops in the Shopping Village.
