British dressage team announced for Aachen

The British team heading to Aachen for the penultimate leg of FEI Nations Cup Dressage series has been announced.

Great form

Charlotte Dujardin will be competing Valegro for the first time since they won the FEI World Cup Final in April.

“Blueberry is in great form at home but is looking forward to doing what he does best – competing,” said Charlotte. “Aachen is a huge competition for us. The crowds are supportive, the competition fierce and it’s an amazing show.

“It will be a good run before the World Equestrian Games and I’m really excited to get into the arena with him again.”

First points

The word champions will be joined by Michael Eilberg (Half Moon Delphi), Daniel Watson (Fideramber) and Nikki Crisp (Pasoa).

Nikki and Daniel were on the team for Rotterdam CDIO last month, which finished fourth to give Britain its first points of the season.

Michael will also take Marakov to Aachen to contest the CDI4*, while Alexandria Barr will compete in the U25 CDI with Romanoff II.

Final leg

The Netherlands are currently at the top of the Nations Cup leaderboard on 30 points. Sweden is hot on their heels with 28, while Denmark are third (20), and the USA and Belgium are joint fourth (15). France is sixth (11), with Britain in seventh place on nine points.

The World Equestrian Festival in Aachen, Germany takes place on 17 – 20 July. The final leg in the Nations Cup series is at Hickstead on31 July – 03 August.
