Horse & Country TV (H&C) today announced the launch of new series “The Check In” which will run throughout the lockdown period. Whilst camera crews can’t get out and about at the moment, video call technology allows us to talk to anyone in the world. In each episode of The Check In, H&C presenter Jenny Rudall catches up with personalities from across the equestrian community to see how they’re coping during the lockdown and share tips and advice on how to get through it.

The first episode, available now, features Winnie Murphy, Head of Communications at the BEF and BD, and eventer Simon Grieve. Winnie fills us in on the latest news from the governing body and how Team GBR riders are responding to the Olympics being pushed back to 2021. Simon talks about how he’s moving forward after the disappointment of Badminton being cancelled and how he’s occupying his time working on his first novel!

A five star roster has been lined up for future episodes including William Fox-Pitt and Alice Plunkett, Carl Hester, Caroline Moore, Supergroom Alan Davies, H&C favourite Pammy Hutton, Geoff Billington and Richard Davison and family. We’ll also be hearing from the leadership of the governing bodies and membership organisations at the heart of the sport, starting with Marcus Capel, Chief Executive of The Pony Club.

Three episodes will be produced each week and will be completely free to watch across all H&C platforms. New episodes will premiere at 8.30pm each Monday, Wednesday and Friday on H&C’s new, completely free, streamed channel, H&C Free, and our premium channel, H&C Plus. All episodes will also be available to watch on demand at the H&C website or in the free H&C apps.

Commenting on the new series Director of Content at H&C, Jonathan Rippon, said:

“At this time, keeping in touch and sharing information is more important than ever. “The Check In” will be a great source of advice and reassurance in these difficult times but we’re also determined that it’ll be a lot of fun too. During the lockdown people are taking up all sorts of new activities and we want to hear about those. And, of course, we’ve got some great storytellers in the line-up. We’ll make sure they share some of their best.”
