Rudall’s Round-Up features two of the UK’s most glamorous equestrian events, with visits to polo’s International Day and the Longines Global Champions Tour.
Home of English Polo
Guest presenter Rhi Lee-Jones reports from The International Day at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club (RCBPC).
This is one of the highest profile sporting events in the British summer calendar, featuring two top tournaments.
The Coronation Cup was first played for in 1911 to honour the coronation of King George V, grandfather to the Queen. The Westchester Cup was created in 1876 and is played by teams from the USA and England.
This is the first year the event was held at RCBPC, which was named as the Official Home of English Polo in 2017.
An exciting addition to this year’s event, was a masterclass with Charlotte Dujardin who delighted the crowds by riding Valegro.
Global Champions Tour
Also in August, guest presenter Charlotte Ricca-Smith takes a trip to London to go behind the scenes at the 13th leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour. This is the second year the event has been held at Royal Hospital in Chelsea, and the venue provides a spectacular back-drop for the world’s greatest showjumping series.
You can cheer on the likes of Ben Maher, who is the current series leader, Scott Brash, Shane Breen and William Funnell as they battle it out for big money.
