Another great event is coming to Horse & Country this summer, as we are live streaming a $500,000 Grand Prix from Balmoral Park in Chicago.

Rich history

Balmoral Park has a rich history in equestrian sport, as it was a race-track from 1926 to 2015. The venue was then bought by Thomas Struzzieri, who owns HITS (Horse Shows in the Sun) – a New York-based company, which hosts several showjumping events around the US.

HITS spent $12m turning the 200-acre property into a premiere showjumping venue, which features nine spacious competition rings, including an impressive Grand Prix arena.

This is where the $500,000 HITS Chicago Grand Prix will be hosted on 19 August, which you can watch live on Horse & Country.

WEG preparation

The CSI5* event is part of the HITS Chicago Series and is one of the biggest showjumping competitions in the US, in terms of prize money.

It will also provide perfect preparation for those competing at the World Equestrian Game in Tryon in September.

“We had a great response to our FEI Events at HITS Chicago last year and I think that upgrading to a CSI3* and CSI5*, respectively, is just what the riders are looking for,” said Struzzieri.
