Masterclass Xtra returns with series 3 on H&C
Horse & Country is excited to announce four fab new Masterclass Xtra shows, focussing on showjumping, dressage and eventing.
Training tips
Throughout June four different riders, at the top of their sport, will share top training tips and secrets of their success.
The new series kicks off with young eventer David Doel, who works from poles all the way up to corner fences.
David rode in his first British Eventing (BE) competition when he was just 14 and has progressed up the ranks, joining the senior league in 2015.
Major results include team silver at the Team GB Young Rider Championships in 2013 and winning British Eventing’s Goldman Cup in 2014, which is awarded each year to the u21 rider with the most BE points.
Back by popular demand!
This episode will be followed by a Masterclass with Jay Halim, who is back by popular demand! The international showjumper and top trainer takes us through a range of jumping exercises, which are great to try at home.
Emily King is the star of our next programme, which features some interesting grid work ideas. In case you don’t know (we’re sure you do!) Emily is the daughter of eventing legend Mary King and has forged her own successful career in the sport.
She represented Team GB for the first time when she was just 15 and went on to win team gold in the Young Rider European Championships in Strzegom in 2015. Emily now competes at four-star level and is a great hope for the future.
World’s best
The final show in June sees international dressage star Matt Frost show us how to work through the paces on horses of all ages and abilities, from a four-year-old to a grand prix horse.
Matt has worked with some of the world’s best trainers in the world, including Carl Hester – where he got to compete amazing horses including Uthopia, Valegro, Tyson, and Donnersong.
