Watch this clip from Country Calendar on Horseback to find out what New Zealand farmers do in their downtime.

Go for a pint? Nope. Play cards? Wrong again. They go harness racing. At least that’s what Ricky May does, who features in our new series.

In this clip Ricky reveals how he juggles the tough and demanding life as a farmer, with being a champion harness racer.

“It’s a pretty busy life. If anyone wants me I’ve always got my cell phone!” he says.
