Chris Burton: ‘We’d sit around the pool drinking gin and tonics’

We all find winter hard with our horses, but spare a thought for antipodean Chris Burton, who swapped gin and tonics by the pool for “foul weather” when he moved to the UK.

“In February in England I wonder what the hell I’m doing here!” he says.
