Walk the Hickstead Derby with Richard Howley

If you’ve ever wondered how to ride the Hickstead Derby bank or Devil’s Dyke you have to check out this video, which offers an exclusive course walk around the world’s toughest Derby fences.

Irish rider Richard Howley came second in the Hickstead Derby last year on Chinook, after having just one rail down in the Dyke. He was out on the course early this year to work out his lines and his sponsor Charles Owen was there to record him.

As Richard said: “The TV really doesn’t do justice to just how big these jumps are.” So take a closer look at the course – and find out how Richard plans on riding it.
