A few hours before Bertram Allen was disqualified from the Olympia Grand Prix Six Bar joint winner Victoria Gulliksen was also stripped of her title.

Confusion

Victoria the daughter of top Norweigian rider Geir Gulliksen had been invited to the show specifically to compete in the Alltech Puissance.

Several other riders competed in the Puissance only including Ireland’s Trevor Breen and Anthony Condon and eventual joint winner Hilmar Meyer of Germany.

The Six Bar was only open to the riders who were part of the international line up which is restricted to those high enough up the rankings or taking up one of a nation’s allocated spaces at the show.

Mistake

The rider commented after the disqualificaiton: “Sadly there was a mistake on my part as I genuinely thought my National Federation had received permission for me to enter the Six Bar” said Victoria Gulliksen.

Jon Doney the President of the Ground Jury added: “Unfortunately under the rules there is no question that Victoria Gulliksen has had to be disqualified from the Six Bar competition today. We’re obviously very disappointed for Victoria and the genuine mistake which led to the disqualification and look forward to her returning another year.”
