Royal Windsor Horse Show is coming to H&C, as we will be showing three, one-hour highlight shows of the Grand Prix Freestyle to Music, the Kingdom of Bahrain Stakes for the King’s Cup and the Rolex Grand Prix.

Biggest prize

This year’s Royal Windsor on 10-14 May promises to be bigger and better than ever, as its showjumping has been upgraded to five-star level, while dressage now has four-star status. In addition, Sunday’s Rolex Grand Prix is offering a £258,000 prize fund, which is the biggest prize in British Showjumping.

Show director Simon Brooks-Ward said the show’s five-star status and impressive prize money puts Windsor “alongside the best international horse shows in the world”.

Olympic riders

Dressage fans should head to Windsor on Thursday and Friday evening, when the Grand Prix and Freestyle to Music will take centre stage. The names of the riders attending this year have yet to be released, but last year Windsor welcomed a number of Olympic riders, including Charlotte Dujardin, Carl Hester, Laura Tomlinson, Spencer Wilton and Michael Eilberg.

Alongside the dressage and jumping, there are more than 140 showing classes, with some of the most important classes in the UK. This year sees the return of the Ridden Purebred Arab class and the introduction of the new Supreme Ridden Show Champion, which will see champions from across the five days go head-to-head.

Driving and endurance

And there’s more… Windsor also hosts the Land Rover CAIO4* International Driving Grand Prix, and the CEI2* 120km and new CEI1* 80km endurance rides.

Away from the competitive action, there is the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, the Musical Ride of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, the DAKS Pony Club Mounted Games and the Shetland Pony Grand National. And lots and lots of shopping. So get your tickets now!
