Michael Jung wins 2017 FEI Classics series

Michael Jung is US$40,000 richer after winning the 2017 FEI Classics series.

Clear lead

The German eventer finished the season with a clear lead of 39 points, after coming second at Pau and Badminton, and winning Lexington.

France’s Maxime Livio is in second place on the leaderboard with 33 points, following a win at Pau, a second place at Lexington and a fifth at Luhmühlen. He wins a $30,000 bonus, while third placed Nicola Wilson (20 points) receives $20,000.

Great season

Nicola has had a great season, recently adding a gold and bronze European medal to her fourth at Pau and second Luhmühlen.

The FEI Classics brings together the six four-star competitions currently on the eventing calendar:

  • Les 4 Etoiles de Pau, France
  • Australian International 3 Day Event, Adelaide
  • Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event, USA
  • Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials
  • Luhmuhlen CCI**** presented by DHL Germany
  • Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials

William Fox-Pitt has been most successful in the series, achieving four wins since it started in 2008.
