Horse dies after being hit by car on A47

A horse has died after being hit by a car on the A47 in Cambridgeshire.

According to local police they were called to the scene in Wisbech at 7.10am this morning (13 January). The accident happened between Elm Hall and the Tesco roundabout and the road was closed as a result.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured however the horse had to be put down.

It is not known how the horse got loose on the road.

Collided

A police spokesman said: “We were called to the A47 at Wisbech at about 7.10am this morning to reports that a car (silver Ford Focus) had collided with a horse.

“A vet was called to the scene and the horse was put to sleep. No persons are reported injured.”
