Carl de Campos has blind trust in his beloved horse billy, which is why nothing will stop him from achieving his ambitions – even though he can’t see.

Gruelling marathon

The pair of them completed the Fauresmith Challenge, a gruelling 201km marathon across South Africa. Watch this preview of an incredible documentary that follows Carl and Billy as they prepare for their second race, training alone on isolated country roads.

Blind Trust also documents the daily challenges Carl faces, coping on his own on a smallholding and the difficult decisions he has to make when his beloved horse falls ill, just before the big race.

Bond of trust

It’s an eye-opening account of what it takes for a blind person to take part in endurance and a touching portrayal of the bond of trust between horse and rider.

Blind Trust airs on Sky 253 on 22 January at 9pm.
